College Trip to Kajo Keji

This summer, a team of college students visited Kajo Keji, South Sudan to encourage the youth team there and do evangelism together.

Each day, our group of American college students teamed up with young adults and seminary students from Kajo Keji to visit a different church plant in the villages surrounding the area. Each church gave us such a warm welcome! After a time of introductions and prayer, we broke out into smaller teams to share the gospel in homes and marketplaces in the village.

In the afternoons, we gathered for lunch and shared reports from the day’s evangelism. Then, one or two of our American team members taught a lesson from Scripture and their testimony to encourage the church members.

On Sunday, we worshiped with our African friends in a joyful service at the recently-opened flagship church. After church, we had lunch together and went to pray for patients and staff at the local hospital.

Everywhere we went, God opened our eyes to the ways that He is working to provide the hope of Jesus to the people of South Sudan.

Our African team is full of incredible men and women who taught us so much through their boldness, their knowledge of God’s Word, and their faith. The relationships we built over the week were the greatest gift. Whether in the times of walking between houses, of breaking bread together, or of playing soccer after the day’s ministry, it was so special to do ministry and have fun as brothers and sisters in the family of God.

We landed back home grateful for these new friendships and with a renewed vision of how God is moving and raising up leaders in Northeast Africa, to bring the light of the gospel to dark places.

God is growing a passion for his mission in the hearts of young people – both in the US and Northeast Africa. They are bold, they are burdened for the lost, and they love Jesus deeply. We hope you’ll join us in praying for both our American team and the emerging young leaders in Kajo Keji, as they go where God is leading them.
