Moses Owilli serves as the Principal of the Empower One School of Church Planting. He has been a part of the school since February of 2016.

“Through the School of Church Planting, God is raising up a new generation of people to preach the gospel and personally live according to His instructions. I am excited to see God raising up men who are willing to abide in Him, die to self and carry the cross daily.”

Moses was born in a small village located in northeastern Uganda. His father died when Moses was only six months old, leaving his mother to raise him with his six other brothers and sisters. Difficult situations and lack of resources forced him to drop out of school at a young age. In 1996, he came to Jinja to look for a job to help his mom support the family. He worked as a security guard with a fish factory for three years. While there, in 1998, he received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He continued working with the fish factory, and began to serve as a missionary while also attending Global Theological Seminary. Studying by day and working as a guard at night, he received his Diploma in Theology.

After finishing school, he was asked to teach at the seminary from 2004 through 2015. In February of 2016, Pastor David Kaya asked Owilli to come to South Sudan and help teach at Empower One’s School of Church Planting. He now serves as the school’s Principal.

I joined the team because I wanted to blend together my energy, skills and life with other team members in equipping church leaders to fulfill the vision of Empower One. I love sharing the gospel, encouraging church leaders and being in class studying God’s Word together with students.”

Moses is married to Catherine and they have been blessed with four children; three boys and a girl.

“The Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to pour my life into other young men who are also ready to share Christ with others.”

Pray for Moses

“Pray for wisdom to be an effective leader, for more gospel presentation opportunities, especially to the unreached, and for good health for me and my family.

Pray that the need to learn and partner with each other in God’s mission remains paramount.”
